WHY TAKE LESSONS AT SILVER STRINGS?
At Silver Strings, we specialize in string instrument instruction (violin, viola, and cello). All of our teachers have a graduate degree in their instrument and Suzuki teaching certification. Our students excel at their instruments, place in local youth orchestras, all-county, and all-state orchestras, and get accepted to college to study music. More importantly, our teachers are patient, and our students have FUN learning to play their instrument. We teach students all over the Northwest Denver Metro area: students come from Westminster, Arvada, Thornton, Golden, Broomfield, Erie, Boulder, and Denver to take lessons with us.
We provide private music lessons that are catered to your individual musical goals. We teach all genres of music and offer Suzuki, classical, and folk instruction for all levels of stringed instrumentalists. We want to brighten your life through music education, no matter where you are on your musical journey.

WELL ESTABLISHED
MUSIC EDUCATION PROGRAM
Karen Lauffer founded Silver Stings Academy in 2015, after teaching private violin lessons, viola lessons, and cello lessons in the Westminster area since 2009. She saw a need for a Suzuki school, and wanted to provide the music education possible to students in the Arvada and Westminster area. As of 2022, Silver Strings continues to provide quality music lessons to students in the Northwest Denver metro area under the ownership of Regina Vendetti.
In addition to private lessons, Silver Strings will offer themed group classes starting October 2022! These themed student and adult classes are for the students of all ability levels.
OUR INSTRUCTORS ARE THE BEST!
Private lesson instructors at Silver Strings are friendly, well educated, and helpful people. All private teachers use a nurturing teaching style to encourage students to improve and help them to meet their musical goals. This is not to say that teachers here ‘let things go’- we all strive for the best, and are highly trained pedagogues with college and graduate degrees in music.

1. WE SPECIALIZE IN STRINGED INSTRUMENT INSTRUCTION.
All we do at Silver Strings is provide excellent music lessons for violin, viola, and cello. We are the only school in the Arvada area that specializes in strings. We offer the BEST and most FUN violin, viola, and cello lessons in the West Denver Metro area.
2. OUR TEACHERS ARE THE MOST QUALIFIED IN THE ARVADA AREA.
Our teachers all have an undergraduate degree and graduate degree in Pedagogy (teaching) for their instrument. In addition, our teachers have gone through further training to teach children as young as three years old called Suzuki Certification. However, unlike other Suzuki schools, our teachers use music outside of the Suzuki Repertoire as well to ensure that students stay engaged in lessons. This includes fiddle music, popular music, music by underrepresented composers, Lindsey Stirling, and more! Whatever music you or your child is interested in playing is what we want to teach!
3. A WIDE RANGE OF MUSIC LESSON TIMES AVAILABLE
During the school year, we offer lesson times Sunday through Friday! Lessons are available from noon-8 pm.
During the summer, we offer lessons times Sunday through Thursday from 10am-8pm.

View our testimonial page to see what our students are saying. Every year, aspiring music teachers start their own studios, and a year or two later, they close. Silver Strings has a proven track record of offering quality violin, viola, and cello lessons to families in the Westminster and Arvada areas year round. Karen opened her first studio in 2013, and expanded to Silver Strings Academy two years later. Since then, you can find happy Silver Strings students in the top levels of all county orchestra, youth orchestras, and at the front of their section at school. Our full time mission is teaching music lessons, and hundreds of families have trusted us to do so over the past ten years.
5. A COMFORTABLE WAITING AREA FOR OUR CLIENTS
We have a spacious parent friendly waiting area equipped with Wi-Fi. We also provide large observations windows on our lesson rooms so that you can watch your child’s lesson while you wait. Or if you prefer, you can sit in on their lesson anytime you like.
6. TECHNOLOGICALLY ADVANCED LESSON ROOMS
Our teachers encourage students to use technology to aid in their musical development, whether that is through the use of music notation software or recording projects through GarageBand. Our teachers are also experienced in remote instruction, so if you are having a busy day or weather is bad, we can easily do a Zoom lesson instead of having to cancel!
7. Year Round Recitals
We hold two to three recitals a year at our convenient location at Advent Lutheran Church. Recitals are held in the sanctuary, which seats 200 people. We have a grand piano in the sanctuary! Recitals are also live-streamed so that grandparents or other relatives who may live out of state can attend virtually.
We hold both solo and chamber (pieces for small groups) recitals for students so they practice both performing and playing with others.
For our adult students, we hold low-key, casual recitals one to two times a year.
8. Late morning and lunch time lessons for home schoolers, retirees, college students, and working professionals
During the school year, our lessons slots start at noon on weekdays. If you are a home school parent, retiree, college student, or working professional who has a flexible schedule, take advantage of our lunch time lesson spots!
9. CONVENIENT LOCATION
We are located close to I-70, I-76, I-25 and Rt. 36. People come to lessons at Silver Strings from Arvada, Westminster, Thornton, Denver, Golden, Broomfield, and even parts of eastern Colorado!
10. Month to Month Lessons
Silver Strings does not require semester minimums for lessons. Every student here is on a month-to month basis.
If you are ready to start, you have nothing to lose as we only want students who truly want to be here and we will not commit you to a long term contract. If you decide to stop lessons, just let us know by the 15th of the month- that’s it!
